A Love Song

“Bridge Of Light”, Pink

Just when you think
Hope is lost,
And giving up
Is all you got,
And blue turns black,
Your confidence is cracked,
There seems no turning back from here

Sometimes there isn’t an obvious explanation
Why the holiest hearts can feel the strongest palpitations

That’s when you can build a bridge of light,
That’s what turns the wrong so right
That’s when you can’t give up the fight

That’s when love turns night time into day,
That’s when loneliness goes away,
That’s why you gotta be strong tonight,
Only love can build us a bridge of light

When your feet are made of stone
And you’re convinced that you’re all alone
Look at the stars instead of the dark
You’ll find your heart shines like the sun

Let’s not let our anger get us lost
And the need to be right comes with way too high a cost

That’s when love can build a bridge of light
That’s what turns the wrong so right
That’s when you know it’s worth the fight

That’s when love turns night time into day
That’s when loneliness goes away,
That’s why you gotta be strong tonight
‘Cause only love can build us a bridge of light

Deep breath, take it on the chin
But don’t forget to let the love back in

That’s when love can build a bridge of light
That’s what turns the wrong so right
That’s when you can’t give up the fight

And that’s when love turns night time into day,
That’s when loneliness goes away
That’s why you gotta be strong tonight
‘Cause only love can build us a bridge of light

Only love can build us a bridge of light…

Of light….

Why Can UK Government Pay £10m to Bury Thatcher if it Can’t Afford to Bury Ordinary Pensioners?

The UK Government’s decision to spend an estimated £10m on the ‘state funeral’ for former PM Margaret Thatcher faced fresh controversy today.  We now know the government has been rejecting thousands of applications for Pauper Funerals made on behalf of ordinary UK pensioners who have died alone without money left to pay for their own burial. It seems Thatcher might be the only pensioner the UK government will support to die with dignity.

Share Your World 2013 – 12

Hi Hobbit friends,

share-your-world2

Another week gone, I hope you all had a wonderful Equinox, Vernal or Autumn. The first days of spring here are bit on the dismal grey side and we even have snow – not that I’m complaining, I love wintery weather. It’s SYW time already, and lovely way to return to work after a couple of day off it is too. So if you want to play along please click the link HERE and go to Cee’s page

When anniversary’s of unhappy times pop up, how do you handle them and what makes you turn your mood (attitude) around?

I tend to troll off to Avebury and spend some time wandering in among the ancient stones; I find the ambience so amazingly reassuring when I need it most. If it is a birthday or anniversary of a loved one in spirit I also work a small ritual of remembrance and then focus on the good times we shared to help me keep smiling. I try not to grieve too much as I know they are in a better place and we’ll meet again in spirit and next time round in life.

Are you a cat, dog, goat or prefer the zoo person?

As I am sure every good feline knows, cats rule, dogs drool!

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

I am an old soul and I am 1000’s of years old – that I am pretty certain of. Having said that I am also a Peter Pan type and have a childlike innocent outlook on life. If I didn’t know how old I was I’d say late 30’s.

Are you left or right handed?

Both, but the right-hand is neater.

That’s all the questions. Thank you Cee, until next week
Love and light

So the Sun has turned its ship to the ocean, towards Pisces. Boy has it been a long trek, and such a cold, hard place midwinter could be, so frozen, so difficult to swallow, no matter how necessary and potentially transformative. But now towards Neptune's world it moves, mutable, moving water, and mist and thaw. And by Pisces' older ruler, Jupiter, the greater benefic, the kingly, paternal, generous and expansive.

I have watched the situation of gay men change enormously since I was a child. When I first had a sexual experience with a man at the age of 20, it wasn't even legal for us, as the age of consent was 21. It hadn't been legal at any age in the UK just 11 years before. I grew up in a time when homosexuality was considered a psychiatric illness and was "treated" with ECT and aversion therapy.
